Hong Ik Martial Arts of New Rochelle, William Ward Elementary School Introductory Class and Demo

On Friday, September 14th, Hong Ik Martial Arts New Rochelle participated in the 2018 Back To School BBQ held at William B. Ward Elementary School. The festivities began at 4 PM with various vendors all set up. Among them were Bounce Slides, Obstacle Courses, and Carnival Games. The bigger crowds started to come in a little bit later in the day around 5 PM. Susas Malcolm Pottinger, Peter Sohn, Daniel Strausberg, Davis Pak, and Black Belt Gabriella Dahl warmed up and rehearsed for Martial Arts Demonstration during the middle of the event. They displayed basic strikes from Horse Back stance, color belt kicking combinations, and board breaking techniques on the basketball court. Some impromptu board breaking skills were also shown from brown belt student Ryan Leventhal and red//black belt student Joshua Cohen. Furthermore, the leadership students gave mini lessons to those interested in Taekwondo. It was a great turnout from the New Rochelle Community and lots of fun. A special thank you to Erica Vinelli and the entire Ward Elementary School PTA for having us at this wonderful event.
