Fair Lawn location Power Breaking Contest

On June 11th Yoo’s Martial Arts in Fairlawn held a special event – Power Breaking Contest. Twenty three students were selected to participate in the event and were allowed to bring one guest each.

The event started with a lecture by Master Yoo on achieving a healthy human condition. Master Yoo introduced specific ways to build a strong body, a stable mind, and a bright spirit. Students and guests joined in practicing three postures (tiger pose, push-up, and basic meditation), and were evaluated based on proper posture, concentration and sincere effort.

The second part of the event consisted of channeling energy into power board breaking. After some practice time with the guidance of Master Kim and assistance of Fairlawn SUSA and MUSA members, students and guests were invited to display individual board breaking. Both YMA students and their guests displayed great fun and courage competing for prizes.

The event culminated with a demonstration by members of Fairlawn’s accomplished YMA demo team, including form, self-defense and board breaking. This was immediately followed by the awards ceremony for 1st place and runner up students and guests.

We congratulate all participants and their families for making the event a success and sharing their positive energy. We wish them well in working towards a healthy human condition and look forward to making this rewarding journey together.
