We are excited to announce that Master Jorge Delgado has been promoted to the esteemed rank of HyunSa, a crowning achievement in a journey that began in 2001. Balancing two decades of dedicated training with his academic pursuit and a passion for education, Master Jorge Delgado embodies the true spirit of a martial artist and teacher, constantly learning and passing on his knowledge to the next generation.
Master Jorge Delgado began his martial arts journey when he was 10 years old. Since then he has shown high dedication to training and teaching. His perseverance led to his well-deserved 4th Dan in 2018 at the age of 27, elevating him to a HIMA leader with the rank of Sabumnim.
Master Jorge Delgado’s accomplishments extend far beyond the dojang:
- A Devoted Master: Teaching since 2015, Master Jorge Delgado has spent over a decade mentoring students, including a tenure at Hong Ik Martial Arts of Brewster from 2022-2024 and his ongoing work at Hong Ik Martial Arts of New Rochelle since 2015
- Academic Achievement: His commitment to education is reflected in his path through higher education, culminating in a Masters in Educational Studies from Pace University in 2024, following studies at Lehman College and WCC.
- Professional Impact: Currently serving as a Social Studies Teacher Resident & Building Substitute at Bronxville Middle and High School, he is shaping the minds of future leaders.
Master Jorge Delgado’s future plans are focused on securing full-time teaching positions, with future ambitions to further his studies in educational leadership or earn a doctorate in social studies, continuing a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and mentorship.
