MUSA Lilia VanLare is a bodan yellow belt at Hong Ik Martial Arts of New Rochelle. On Sunday, October 4, 2026 she celebrated her 1st HIMA Birthday Party, turning 9 years old.
She had over 15 guests in attendance. The guests warmed up with simple agility ladder drills. Following that, Lilia spoke about Jung, Ki, Shin. Having practiced Taekwondo for the last 2 years, she shared that regarding QiGong, she initially felt she was just doing hand movements. But now, having done TaeGeuk Saam TaeGeuk QiGong in September, she could feel the tingling magnetic force at her palms and fingertips while moving. As a result, she could focus more easily. The importance of that is feeling a unified connection between her body, breathing, and thoughts. Consequently, the individual can then commune with Mother Nature and work towards widely benefitting humankind. She possesses the great qualities of humility and patience.
Lilia’s demonstration consisted of Mari Sword and Kicking Combinations. She created her own unique board break for the celebration, incorporating skills from the level 1 Tumbling Workshop training.
