On June 27, 2026, Hong Ik Martial Arts of Tarrytown proudly hosted the Nunchuck Workshop, bringing together students from Hong Ik Martial Arts of Tarrytown, Mahwah, Fair Lawn, New Rochelle, Brewster, and Bronxville for an exciting afternoon of learning, practice, and skill development. The event was divided into two sessions: one for Level 1 students and another for Levels 2–5.

Throughout the workshop, students were introduced to techniques appropriate for their each level while emphasizing safety, control, precision, and fluid movement. Target Striking Practice

After completing instruction, all participants came together for an interactive target-striking session. Students partnered up, taking turns holding long targets while their partners applied the techniques they had learned.

  • Level 1 students focused on developing accuracy and control with the basic triangle strike.
  • Levels 2–5 students practiced advanced striking combinations, using proper footwork to move and strike multiple targets on each side of the practitioner.

Conclusion

As the workshop concluded, the room was filled with enthusiasm and a strong sense of accomplishment. Students left with improved technical skills, increased confidence, and a greater appreciation for the discipline, coordination, and artistry of nunchuck training. To recognize their hard work and participation, each student received an official workshop certificate. We look forward to seeing everyone continue their progress at our next Nunchuck Workshop!
